Street Reserves have been dealt another blow after the deduction of two more points following the playing of an ineligible player for the 2nd time this season.
Midfield pair Dan & Nick Milner look set to return to action within the next 7 days. Nick, who has been sidelined since February with a knee injury has been back in full training for the last 2 weeks & is keen to get back into the action, Brother Dan is also responding well after tweaking a groan 3 weeks ago & looking forward to a swift return

Ian Howse who with Danny Badman led the reserves to promotion last term and was top goalscorer at the club has left Street to team up again with Simon Dovey at Wells City, Joining him at Wells City will be midfield dynamo Luke Dovey whose work commitments prevent him from playing regularly. Both players will be missed at the club & we wish them well in their new venture

With regards to the lease that Street football club has with Mendip District Council I can confirm that the current 20 year lease expires in the year 2016 and that the club has been in constant dialogue with the Council with regards the options available for the past 2 years but as yet there is nothing more to report.

Reserves Point deduction
I can confirm that Street reserves have been deducted 3 points and received a fine for fielding ineligible players in their opening 2 League fixtures against Watchet Town & Paulton Rovers. These offences only came to light after both games had been played & was due to in one case a player not informing the manager that he hadn't signed a form until after the game & in the 2nd case a form had been signed by the player but not received by the secretary and therefore not registered. While both offences are regrettable the club takes full responsibility, offers apologies to the players management & supporters and have taken measures to ensure there will not be a reoccurrence.

Chairman Mark Clarke looks forward to the start of the new season & the dawning of a new era in the history of Street Football Club
. "With Dave Pole at the helm & the best crop of local talent at the club in many years the future looks bright for the club not only this season but in the years to come, Dave Pople inherited a young mainly local side that and has addde to that during the summer to give us a squad that I'm sure will be challenging for honours within the next few years. Last season Simon White took the club to its highest League position in over 50 years and I expect Buzz to carry on the good work & progress even further this time round. Nobody at the club is naive enough to believe that we will be challenging for the title but if the team continues to mature then I think a mid table finish would be a great achievement this time round. All the best tomorrow & for the rest of the season lads all anyone can ask is that you play with a smile on your face and give it 100 % " .

Former Club Captain & long serving player Dave Pople has been appointed the new Manager at Street F C. Although the post was never advertised following the resignation of Simon White several high calibre candidates threw there hats in the ring, but the Committee decided that continuity was the way forward and had no hesitation in offering the position to " Buzz" once he declared an interest.

Simon White's Resignation
A Statement from the Chairman
Simon informed the Secretary Darren Stone of his intention to resign on Monday morning but agreed to meet Darren & myself on Monday evening to discuss the situation. During this meeting it became clear that Simon felt that he had taken the club as far as he could and had lost some of his appetite for the job & it was with great reluctance that his resignation was excepted Last season had proved very difficult during the run in with the combination of a hectic last 10 weeks of the season in which we had to play half of our league fixtures with the added pressure of being at the wrong end of the table. Simon was looking forward to the summer break enabling him to re charge his batteries and return with renewed enthusiasm & vigour in preparation of the new season. Unfortunately all the events on & off the field of the last 6 months had taken their toll & Simon felt that it would be in the best interests of Street Football Club to appoint a new manager with fresh ideas to compliment the existing excellent squad of players before the start of the new season
The Committee whilst extremely disappointed to lose Simon from the post would like to thank him for all he has done for the club in the past 2 years. In two spells at the club Simon has led the club to promotion on both occasions & has a track record at Western League level 2nd to none, he has also given many players the belief & opportunity to prove themselves at Western League level no matter how young & the club will I'm sure be reaping the benefits for many years to come. We wish him well in whichever route he chooses to pursue in the future and he will always be afforded a warm welcome at the Tannery.
