Street Win against Larkhall

Following last weeks superb victory at Dawlish expectations were high at the Tannery with the home fans looking for a repeat performance & they were not to be disappointed as Street ran out 3-2 winners in a tight game. Street started brightly & had the ball in the net after 14 minutes when a great run from Bisgrove set up Pearse but the striker was adjudged off side and the ‘goal’ ruled out. On 30 minutes however Street did go ahead when a long clearance out of defence from Nugent sailed over the Larkhall defence and Kye Palmer latched onto it before going round the keeper and stroking it into the empty net. Larkhall spurned a great chance to pull level 5 minutes later when a great run and cross from Ross Lye fell to Jamie Lyons 6 yards out but he scuffed his shot and Ryan Lewis was able to safely collect it. Right on the stroke of half time though Lyons made amends slotting the ball home from close range to send the sides in level. Street regained their advantage 7 minutes into the 2nd period with a peach of a goal from Reynold Turnock on his home debut, curling a free kick into the top corner from the edge of the box. Within 2 minutes though Larkhall were back on terms when Ryan Lewis spilled the ball a then hauled down Lyons to gift them a penalty which Yan Klukowski duly dispatched.
Street got the all important winning goal though with 20 minutes remaining. A through ball down the right was chased down by Palmer whose pressure caused the keeper to slice the ball into the path of James Bisgrove on the left side of the penalty area. Bisgrove dropped his shoulder a cut inside the defence before hitting a powerful right footed shot across the face of the keeper & into the net to secure the points. Street introduced new signing Aaron Lomax with 15 minutes remaining and he almost marked his return to the Cobblers with a goal. Tom Clifford-Jones sent over a cross from the right that Lomax directed towards the bottom corner but the keeper managed to get down a scramble the effort away. Street had to sustain some late pressure from the visitors but held firm to make it 2 wins in a row for the 1st time since August.
